Modern Marble

Design

As interior design trends come and go in a similar manner to Fast-Fashion, more and more home owners are looking to stand the test of time and invest in modern takes on higher quality classic design elements. Marble floors and inlays are a perfect example of this. Once a design cornerstone to Roman empires and palatial european homes, it has made its way in popularity all the way to the 21st century, with a fresh new look.

Marble and mosaic tile is a desirable element because of its versatility and durability. It can be used in both traditional and modern settings, and it comes in a wide range of colors and patterns. Marble can be used to create a soft, understated look, but we are seeing bigger trends that put marble in the forefront of design and used to make a bold and dramatic statement.

Sustainable and eco-friendly design, when installed properly and maintained, marble can last for decades.

Here are some of my favorite designers creating custom pattern marble floors being used in a big way to “ground” an overall interior design.
